Nov 04, 2010 (newstodate): Jade Cargo may be heading towards new destinations in Northern Europe in 2011.
-Our first priority was to establish ourselves in the Asia-Europe market. Then our next priority was to add trans-Atlantic services, which has also now been realized, says Kay Kratky, Jade Cargo CEO.
-We are, however, always monitoring the market that is constantly changing. All our flights are practically fully booked, but we are listening to customers, not just focusing on mere volumes.
-In most cases we will need two stops on a route to secure a balanced operation, but for us yields weigh heavier than just volumes. So we are now considering various options in Northern Europe, and we will probably come out with some news here in time for launch during summer 2011.
-We will of course find competitors including national carriers with a firm grip on home markets in most cases. But after all, customers take a global look on new business options and consider a broad range of service parameters when making a choice. So we will definitely come out strongly based on close dialogue with potential customers, says Mr Kratky.
Based at Shenzhen Airport, Jade Cargo International Company Ltd. was founded in October 2004 as a joint venture between Shenzhen Airlines, Lufthansa Cargo AG and the German development finance institute DEG-Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH.
The carrier operates a fleet of six Boeing 747-400ERF freighters.
