Nov 08, 2010 (newstodate): While earlier announcing that there will be no suspension of Airbus A380 flights, Lufthansa has today turned around on the issue.
According to press, the carrier is suspending today's Airbus A380 flight to Johannesburg, replacing the aircraft with a Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
Lufthansa currently operates three Airbus A380 aircraft on its routes to South Africa, China and Japan.
Like Qantas, Lufthansa is operating its Airbus A380 aircraft with Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines, and Qantas has found oil leakages beyond specifications on three more engines inspected.
While Airbus has posted news on the developments on its website, Rolls-Royce is still silent on the problems on its website.
