Nov 05, 2010 (newstodate): The mid-air engine blast on a Qantas Airbus A380 has caused repercussions for other A380 operators using the same Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine.
As a consequence, Singapore Airlines performed precautionary checks following advice from engine manufacturer Rolls Royce and aircraft manufacturer Airbus.
This caused some delays to A380 operations, and on some routes the carrier replaced the A380 with Boeing 777 aircraft to limit the disturbances to the timetable.
All 11 Airbus A380 operated by Singapore Airlines are how, however, back in service, the company says.
Singapore Airlines was the first carrier to take delivery of the A380, performing the first commercial flight with the aircraft from Singapore to Sydney on October 25, 2007.
All six Qantas Airbus A380 remain grounded till further notice.
