Nov 09, 2010 (newstodate): The Japanese LCC Skymark Airlines has provided some comfort to Airbus' troubled A380 program.
The carrier has inked a LoI with Airbus for delivery of four Airbus A380 plus options for a further two aircraft, with deliveries to start from 2014.
Skymark Airlines thus become the first Japanese carrier to place orders for the A380 that will be used on planned new routes between Japan and Europe/USA.
So far no details have been provided on engine choice or configuration.
