Nov 15, 2010 (newstodate): The Kazakh carrier Air Astana has announced the launch of a series of new routes from Almaty, Astana and Aktau to destinations in Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkey during November and December 2010.
New destinations served by Air Astana from Almaty include two weekly flights to St Petersberg in Russia, three weekly rotations to Dushanbe in Tajikistan, and three weekly flights to Tashkent in Uzbekistan.
Air Astana is also introducing two weekly services from Astana to Yekaterinburg in Russia will commence on 8th December, as well as a once-weekly service from Aktau in Kazakhstan to Istanbul.
The opening of these new flights are facilitated by the delivery of new Embraer E-190 aircraft leased from Jetscape, specifically selected to operate Air Astana's growing Central Asia network.
The first two of three leased aircraft are scheduled for delivery fresh from factory in March and April 2011, respectively, and the new route will be temporarily operated with Airbus A320 family aircraft.
