Oct 19, 2010 (newstodate): The Swedish CAA has suspended the AOC of the carrier Viking Airlines that has ceased operations so far, handing back its four leased Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The suspension is caused by the financial plights of the carrier after its loss of a British charter company that went bust.
The carrier is therefore not in a position to secure sound operations, and the AOC suspension will last till March 31, 2011, after which date the authorities will reconsider the issue.
