Oct 22, 2010 (newstodate): Russia's Superjet 100 may be an option for western airlines considering new mid-range regional commercial aircraft.
The Superjet marketing company is now in talks with both Lufthansa and Alitalia, and Alitalia is known to be tendering for acquisition of up to 20 aircraft.
Market estimates are that up to 35 percent of the Superjet aircraft will be sold in North America, 25 percent in Europe, 10 percent in Latin America, and seven percent in Russia and China.
