Oct 11, 2010 (newstodate): The Russian state has granted funding for reconstruction of Gorno-Altaysk Airport in the Altai Republic.
Currently operating a 1,300m runway, Gorno-Altaysk Airport will be upgraded with the expansion of the runway to 2,300m, construction of new taxiways, and equipped with new airnav systems and a new apron area.
With the construction works planned to be completed in 2011, the airport will be able to handle more and heavier aircraft traffic.
