Oct 12, 2010 (newstodate): Russia's Anapa Vityazevo Airport will start works on runway extension from this fall.
Plans are to extend the runway from the existing 2,500m to 2,850m, and in the project is also a modernization of the runway lighting system and other equipment.
Anapa Vityazevo Airport, among 52 Russian airports of strategic importance, was set up in 1974 and is now managed by Bazel Aero.
The project is supported by the Federal government, and will be completed by the end of 2013.
