Oct 05, 2010 (newstodate): The Norwegian low-cost carrier Norwegian is strengthening its presence in the Finnish market from next year.
Norwegian plans to set up a new operational base at Helsinki Vantaa Airport from spring 2011, basing three Boeing 737 aircraft there for a start.
Norwegian ha also announced its decision to establish 13 new routes from Helsinki, including 11 international routes to destinations including Copenhagen, Malaga, Nice, Crete, Rome, Barcelona, London, Split and Alicante, and two domestic lines to Oulu and Rovaniemi.
Since April 2010, Norwegian is already operating flights from Stockholm and Oslo to Helsinki.
