Instead, the Slovenian government will now turn to direct one-on-one negotiations with potential buyers that may include Adria Airways, according to industry sources.
Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport has no scheduled air services and only occasional charter fligthts, including flights by Tunis Air.
The airport has two runways at 1,200 and 2,500 m, respectively, and will open a new passenger terminal before summer 2011.
