Oct 13, 2010 (newstodate): Moscow Domodedovo Airport is embarking on large-scale projects to provide more space at its terminals.
The Canadian company Miwel Construction Ltd will start reconstruction of the current international arrivals area, T1, due to be completed in April 2012.
Ekoproekt-Plaz LLC will been entrusted with the building of a new passenger terminal T2.
The first stage will see a gallery with 9 ramps providing direct connection between building and aircraft, to be completed by March 2013.
When completed, the T1 will cover a total of 275,000 sq m, while T2 will cover 200,000 sq m.
Alredy in progress are works to expand the existing domestic arrivals area, with MNR Bau und Bauberatungs Ges.m.b.H as prime contractor for the project.
This project will be completed by April 2012, and the area of this facility will be expanded to 23,000 sq m.
