Oct 01, 2010 (newstodate): The fate of the Lithuanian carrier Star1 Airlines is in the balance, and an announcement will probably be made this afternoon.
-We have handed in all the documentation requested to the ministry of transportation, and the material will be evaluated at a ministerial meeting at noon today, says Jurate Rupsiene, Star1 Airlines manager communication.
-Till then we can only wait for the outcome of the process, but I expect we can tell more about the our future later today when the deliberations are completed, says Ms Rupsiene.
The carrier's sole aircraft, a Boeing 737-700 has been arrested at Dublin Airport to cover debt claims by several parties, and operations have been halted since then.
Star1 Airlines, based at Vilnius Airport, was established in 2009 when the holding company Star Team Group purchased the company HC Airways for the purpose of promoting and developing the inbound and outbound tourism in Lithuania.
