Oct 21, 2010 (newstodate): Korean Air Cargo is not reviving its freighter service from Sweden's Luleaa Kallax Airport as earlier planned - but keeps the door open.
The carrier was to re-launch a weekly flight from October 12 by transferring a Boeing 747-400F from Frankfurt to Incheon via the Swedish airport to load Norwegian salmon shipments for markets in the Far East.
-Korean Air did not resume its cargo operation on the Luleaa route due to insufficient aircraft capacity and crews during the peak season, says Korean Air Cargo through its UK-based PR agency.
-We are currently considering whether to resume the route next summer or not, but nothing has been decided yet. Korean Air will continue to watch the market and promptly act to the market situation.
Nor much of a promise. But at least the door is not completely shut..
