Oct 28, 2010 (newstodate): The Hungarian low-cost carrier WIZZ Air's 14th operational base will be opened in April 2011 in Lithuania.
At the press conference yesterday, the carrier announced that it will base one Airbus A320 aircraft at Vilnius Airport, and a total of eight routes will be opened from the same month.
From April 16, 2011, WIZZ Air will launch flights from Vilnius to Cork, Stockholm Skavsta and Rome Fiumicino, from April 17 from Vilnius to London Luton, Milan Bergamo and Doncaster-Sheffield, and from April 18 from Vilnius to Eindhoven and Barcelona.
Established in 2003, WIZZ Air now operates a fleet consisting of 34 Airbus A320 aircraft operating from 12 bases, including five in Poland, one in Hungary, one in Bulgaria, three in Romania, one in Ukraine and one in the Czech Republic.
The company's 13th base will be opened in Service, also in April 2011.
