Oct 07, 2010 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo grew its cargo volumes by no less than 41.2 percent, y-o-y, in September 2010.
A total of 12,091 tonnes was carried on passenger, charter and freighter flights - 9,691 tonnes, 70 and 2,330 tonnes, respectively.
As always, the main driver was Asian cargo that increased by 16.5 percent to 6,732 tonnes carried on passenger aircraft, to which should be added 2,330 tonnes carried on the company's freighter services to Hong Kong and Seoul.
European cargo was also up, rising 12.9 percent to 1,978 tonnes, while North Atlantic cargo rose less dramatically, up 8.7 percent to 763 tonnes.
During this year's first eight months, Finnair Cargo has transported 89,426 tonnes, an increase by 38.4 percent, y-o-y.
Asian cargo has risen by 30.3 percent, to 55,227 tonnes.
