Oct 29, 2010 (newstodate): Danish provider of logistics and airfreight road feeder services, Haugsted will move its base at Copenhagen to new premises at Worldwide Flight Services.
-We expect to move all staff and warehouse facilities to WFS from March 1, 2011, leaving our existing off-airport location at Kirstinehoj, says Peter Nygaard, Haugsted operations manager.
-The physical warehouse handling will be provided by WFS staff while we are focusing on managing and operating our extensive road feeder network generating some 70-90 weekly north-going trucks, in addition to about 50 weekly incoming trucks from the south as well as some 60 weekly incoming trucks from the north.
-This means a total of about 175 weekly truck operations managed by the 19 staff in the office here in Copenhagen, says Mr Nygaard.
By the move to the new airport location, Haugsted also rounds off a previous period with some debate over security issues driven by increasing focus by EU legislation as well as by Danish authorities on airline trucking from off-airport locations.
In August 2009 Haugsted, with offices in Copenhagen and Billund, Denmark, and Oslo, Norway, was acquired by Luxembourg-based Wallenborn Transport.
