Oct 04, 2010 (newstodate): Once again, Denmark's Billund Airport has published highly positive positive growth figures for air cargo volumes.
A total of 5,820 tonnes of cargo was handled by Cargo Center Billund in September 2010, a growth by 35.1 percent, y-o-y.
Behind the growth was an increase by 63.5 percent in imports, 3,215 tonnes, but exports were also up by 11.2 percent, to 2,605 tonnes.
This brought January-September totals to 45,421 tonnes, up 36.2 percent, y-o-y, comprising 25,285 tonnes of imports, up 64.6 percent, and 20,136 tonnes of exports, up 11.9 percent.
After this, Billund Airport stands a good chance of beating its earlier full-year record from 2007, when a total of 58,617 tonnes of cargo was handled.
