Oct 20, 2010 (newstodate): The Czech carrier CSA's services to Astana, Kazakhstan, proved a short-lived success.
After years of waiting, the Kazakh authorities finally granted CSA permission to operate flights from Prague to Astana from June, 2010 - but the carrier has now canceled the service from the start of this winter's schedule.
Instead, CSA continues to serve Almaty in Kazakhstan, with two weekly rotations on the route from Prague to Almaty, continuing via Tashkent in Uzbekistan on the return flight to Prague.
The cargo GSA serving CSA in Kazakhstan is the Latvian cargo handling and GSA company AG Handling, with offices in Almaty and Astana.
