Oct 28, 2010 (newstodate): British Airways World Cargo is returning a weekly freighter service to the Scandinavian market.
Starting November 6, 2010, BAWC will operate an Airbus A300 freighter from DHL Aviation to fly a weekly rotation between Copenhagen Airport and East Midlands in the UK, offering 40 tonnes of cargo capacity.
The new service will provide exporters in Scandinavia with access to the carrier's on-ward flights to destination in especially North and South America.
From November 5, 2005, BAWC operated a similar service from Stockholm, Sweden, to London Heathrow, but this service was suspended a few years ago, and since then BAWC has been off-line in the Scandinavian markets as to pure freighter services.
BAWC generates 60 percent of its Nordic revenues in the Swedish market, Norway contributes 35 percent, while Denmark and Finland share the remaining five percent.
