Oct 29, 2010 (newstodate): The announcement from British Airways World Cargo of a new Scandinavian freighter service from Copenhagen Airport was good news for the company's GSA as well..
-The timing is perfect, allowing us to make full use of the A300F freighter capacity during the upcoming Christmas peak, says Anders Herrgaard Jepsen, Cargo Care International Managing Director.
-We operate daily trucks from Copenhagen and Billund each day, but the freighter will allow us to build through-pallets here for air transport via the UK to points all over the carrier's network. And while destinations in North and South America as well as the Caribbeans are indeed important, we take all points on the network into consideration, including Europe. Not many carriers bring main-deck cargo into Athens, to name just one example.
-In addition to sales in the Scandinavian markets, we will also provide planning and flight optimization for the new freighter, giving us full control over the service.
-Not surprisingly, the market has immediately responded very positively to this new freighter service that will prove an asset to exporters in all Scandinavian markets, says Mr Herrgaard Jepsen.
Cargo Care International, set up in 2007, was appointed GSA in Denmark for BAWC in March, 2009.
Cargo Care International is closely associated with EGSAC's member for Finland, Norway and Sweden, Airline Services GSA, acting as its representative in Denmark and enabling the two GSA companies to offer a total coverage of Scandinavia and Finland.
New airline principals with Cargo Care Int'l include Finnair Cargo from August 1, 2010, and Coyne Aviation from June 21, 2010, and the GSA has grown its staff from 2.5 to 5.5 employees during 2010.
