Oct 14, 2010 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo is confident of success with the integration since this summer of Austrian Airlines Cargo in its portfolio in the Swedish market.
-The integration with Austrian Airlines has filled a void in our network, namely same-day or over-night access to a number of important destinations in Eastern Europe and the CIS markets, says Rolf Carlson, Lufthansa Cargo manager Sweden.
-The Swedish air cargo market has responded favorably to the new potentials that are supported by ultra-short transfer times at Vienna Cargo where cargo is turned around in only 40 minutes - an impressive service.
-After the full integration of the cargo systems and alignment of standards and procedures, the process is gaining momentum. The accumulated volumes sold on Austrian Airlines Cargo's network may still not be high, but the number of shipments, primarily in the range of 40-50 kg, is growing continuously, and actually this shipments' size fits exactly into the belly compartments of the Fokker 50 and Fokker 10 aircraft operated by Austrian Airlines into Sweden, says Mr Carlson.
