Oct 18, 2010 (newstodate): The Swedish carrier Viking Airlines has folded its wings.
The carrier was hit severely by the demise of the UK tour operator KISS Flights that was to be a major customer of the carrier, and efforts to find new customers and to raise new capital for the airline ended without results.
Suspending operations from October 15, 2010,Viking Airlines has now returned its four leased Boeing 737-800 aircraft to the lessor, and the carrier now intends to look over its business model to relaunch services again in 2011 in a new down-sized shape.
