Jan 07, 2010 (newstodate): Uzbekistan Airways is preparing to take delivery of six Airbus A320 aircraft in 2010.
In June 2007, the carrier placed firm orders for six A320 plus options for a further four aircraft, beating Boeing's 737-800 after a prolonged process of evaluation.
The airline is currently sending a batch of staff to Airbus at Hamburg for training purposes.
Uzbekistan Airways will place the new A320 aircraft on domestic as well as on international routes, including destinations such as Delhi, Amritsar and Lahore, as part of a dynamic route expansion plan.
