Jan 14, 2010 (newstodate): Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport has so far provided statistics on its air cargo January-November 2010. And it is still not out of the mire.
During the first 11 months of 2009 the airport handled a total of 119,700 tonnes - a decline by 31 percent, y-o-y.
The airport is, however, seeing signs of recovery; between July and November 2010, volumes increased by 20 percent, and a total of 12,000 tonnes was handled in November, which was "only" 21 percent down on last year's November volumes, trucked and flown volumes included.
-Traffic in December was indeed very intense, so we expect total volumes from the month to bring further proof of recovery. We now expect 2010 to bring sustained recovery as well, albeit at a lower pace, says Sara Wedin, LFV Group Account Manager Air Cargo.
