Jan 26, 2010 (newstodate): In 2010, Russia's Novosibvirsk Tolmachevo Airport will engage in an extensive acquisition program.
250 mio Rubles have been set aside in this year's budget for acquisition of systems and GSE to upgrade the airport's technical and GSE infrastructure.
In the plans are equipment and installation of systems to implement CAT II at the airport's second runway, renovated in 2009, and as soon as the CAT II status has been certified, work will start on moving towards implementation of CAT III including acquisition of runway and navaids systems.
The airport is thus preparing itself for accepting new traffic, including Air France A380 diversion operations.
