Jan 21, 2010 (newstodate): No-one can blame start-up US carrier Baltia Airlines for rushing things.
The carrier has now reportedly signed an engine lease agreement with Logistic Air, providing a power-by-the-hour solution to its needs for compulsion.
In august, 2009, Baltia Airlines announced that it had taken delivery of its first Boeing 747-200 aircraft, thus taking a decisive step towards realizing its plan, announced almost 25 years earlier, to launch flights on routes from New York to St Petersburg, Russia, Riga, Latvia, and a number of other destinations in a growing network to connect USA, Russia, the Baltic region, Ukraine and Belarus.
No date for first flights has yet been announced, though.
