Jan 26, 2010 (newstodate): Russia's Krasnoyarsk Airport is seeing new prospects in increased cooperation with Lufthansa Cargo.
After irresistible pressure from the Russian side on the issue of trans-Siberian over-flight rights, Lufthansa Cargo "chose" to relocate its en-route hub from Almaty, Kazakhstan, to the Russian airport at Krasnoyarsk, with the first transfer flight on the Siberian air route between Europe and Asia serviced on June 1, 2009.
But visions are now to expand the cooperation between the two parties from 2011 with the opening of cargo handling of Lufthansa Cargo shipments to and from the Russian market at Krasnoyarsk.
This, however, depends on the outcome of current political negotiations between the German and Russian states.
