Jan 26, 2010 (newstodate): The Lithuanian charter airline and ACMI provider Aurela has landed a contract with the Danish tour operator Scanway/ Tyrkiet-eksperten.
Under the contract, Aurela will operate a Boeing 757-200 aircraft on routes to leisure destinations including Goa, Egypt and Thailand during the current season.
Aurela, based in Vilnius, has acquired its first Boeing 757-200 aircraft, formerly operated by Russian carrier VIM-Avia, in February, 2009, and now has two aircraft of this type in its fleet also comprising two Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
Aurela also planned to take in Boeing 767 aircraft from 2009 but shelved the plans till the return of better times.
