Jan 01, 2010 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic is reorganizing its corporate structure to ensure a more efficient management by relegating board members to have executive functions only.
Until now, the board members have been simultaneously carrying out duties of the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Commercial Officer.
From now on, Bertolt Flick will be fulfilling the duties of the President and the CEO, Martin Antonovichs will take on the duties of the Chief Financial Officer, Laila Odina the duties of the Chief Operations Officer, and Tero Taskila the duties of the Chief Commercial Officer.
After the reorganization, these members will step down from the seats on the board.
A new board will be nominated at the forthcoming shareholders meeting and elected by the airBaltic Supervisory Board.
The primary shareholders are the Latvian state with 52.6 percent of stock, and SIA Baltijas aviacijas sistemas with 47.2 percent of stock.
