Jan 14, 2010 (newstodate): Kazakhstan's fleet of obsolete Soviet-built aircraft will now be removed from the country's aircraft register.
With March 2010 as the deadline, the Kazakh ministry of transportation will remove the aircraft not meeting ICAO standards from service, aiming at replacing them with new modern aircraft.
The ministry has thus asked for the government to allocate funds for aircraft acquisitions already from this year, sources say.
