Jan 08, 2010 (newstodate): The Romanian carrier Tarom is in the market for hiring additional cockpit crew.
The airline is short of pilots to meet the requirement of this year's summer program and will take in a total of 42 new pilots.
The airline currently employs 193 pilots, but will need a total of 235 pilots in summer.
Tarom will hire 10 graduates from the Romanian Aviation Academy, and plans to hire another 15 pilots following a recruitment competition scheduled for the second half of February, 2010.
The Romanian carrier ended 2009 with some 21 million euros in the red and is strongly affected by the entry into the market of several low-cost competitors, including the privately-owned Romanian LCC, Blue Air.
