Jan 13, 2010 (newstodate): Copenhagen Airport has now published figures for its cargo development during the first nine months of 2009, showing a comparatively mild overall decline in volumes by 10.9 percent, y-o-y.
Through January to September, 2009, the airport handled a total of 234,364 tonnes of cargo, including 30,9323 tonnes of imports, 35,768 tonnes of exports, and 166,664 tonnes of transfer cargo.
Compared to same period in 2008, this was a decline by 13.6 percent in imports, 11.3 percent in exports, and 10.3 percent in transfer cargo.
In September, 2009, the latest month so far reported, total volumes were down 5.3 percent to 28.134 tonnes, including 3,509 tonnes of imports, down 12.6 percent, 4,752 tonnes of exports, up five percent, and 19,874 tonnes of transfer cargo, down 6.1 percent, y-o-y.
As the airport is still to report statistics on its cargo business during the usually busy final quarter of 2009, the end result will probably show that Copenhagen Airport emerged from the year without a major decline in over-all volumes.
