Jan 04, 2010 (newstodate): December ended on a positive note in Denmark's Billund Airport cargo statistics - but not enough to secure a return to black figures in 2009 volume growth.
The airport handled a total of 3,678 tonnes of cargo in December 2009, an increase by 14.3 percent, y-o-y.
The positive growth was secured by 2,046 tonnes of imports, up 41.7 percent, y-o-y, while exports dropped eight percent, to 1,632 tonnes.
During January-December 2009 the airport generated a total of 45,477 tonnes of cargo, a decline by 18.5 percent over the preceding year.
Exports again fared the worst, dropping 23.7 percent to 23,432 tonnes, while imports were down 12 percent, to 22,045 tonnes.
