Sep 23, 2009 (newstodate): The Russian airport Bolshoye Savino Airport, near Perm, is seeing its cargo volumes down in 2009.
In January-August the airport handled a total of 1,743 tonnes of cargo and mail, a decrease by 9.6 percent, y-o-y.
The airport's passenger volumes dropped even more, down 24.3 percent, y-o-y, to 368,426.
August proved a better month, however, for the airport as cargo volumes were up no less than 56.6 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 173 tonnes, while passenger volumes were still down 18.8 percent, y-o-y.
Bolshoye Savino Airport, home to Perm Airlines that had its license revoked in May, 2009, has a 3,200 m runway and since 1965 the former AFB has been operated by commercial airlines also, including Aeroflot, S7 Airlines and Lufthansa
