Sep 28, 2009 (newstodate): Following a tender process, the Croatian construction company Zagorje Tehnobeton has landed a contract with the country's second-largest airport at Split.
The construction company will enpand the airport's apron area, necessary to cope with the increasing volumes of aircraft movements and handling at the airport.
Work will start from October, 2009, and the project is to be completed by 2011, in time for the the summer peak season.
Next in the pipeline at the airport is construction of a new passenger terminal, with works slated to start by 2012 after a tender process.
