Sep 24, 2009 (newstodate): US carrier American Airlines is reportedly pulling out of Moscow after only a few years of service.
The airline will suspend operating six weekly flights from Chicago O'Hare International Airport to Moscow Domodedovo Airport, using Boeing 767-300 aircraft, from September 30, 2009.
Earlier plans to reinstate services from April 2010 will also not be carried out, sources say.
American Airlines first landed in Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport on June 2, 2008, and was later followed by United Airlines that introduced a daily non-stop connection to Washington, D.C.
