Sep 15, 2009 (newstodate): Ryanair is planning for a significant increase in frequency on its Latvia routes form this winter.
The carrier will increase the number of flights on routes from Riga to East Midlands, Glasgow/Prestwick, Liverpool, Milan/Bergamo, Brussels/Charleroi, and Dublin.
Ryanair commenced its operations in 2004 and now operates direct flights from Riga to 13 European destinations.
-Due to the difficult situation in the aviation industry, many airlines decide to reduce the frequency of flights and number of routes in the winter season, whereas Ryanair will increase the number of flights on six routes to Riga thus demonstrating its own strength and Riga's appeal as a tourist and business destination, says Krisjanis Peters, RIGA International Airport Chairman of the Board.
