Sep 01, 2009 (newstodate): Not all freight forwarding and logistics providers express a lenient response to the decision by Lufthansa Cargo to gradually increase rates by up to 25 percent over the coming weeks.
-For the time being no other airline is having such an increase on rates. Obviously many customers will ask us to find alternative solutions at cheaper level - and currently the offer in the market is not small, says Fernando Gea, Geodis Wilson Head Office, Air & Sea freight director.
-On the forwarder's side, we are not reluctant to have high rates from carriers, as long as the whole market shows the same trend. Otherwise competition will for sure become more challenging, says Mr Gea.
