Sep 21, 2009 (newstodate): Bulgaria will have to launch a second tender for sale of Targovishte Airport.
The tender was won by a Bulgarian company in August, but the result from the tender has been canceled because of procedural errors and doubts over the winner in the first round.
The airport, owned by Plovdiv Airport, has been without traffic for a prolonged period, but its location in Central Bulgaria makes it an interesting development project.
According to plans, Targovishte Airport will initially be used for charter traffic, and later cargo traffic for regions in northeast Bulgaria would be added.
