Sep 09, 2009 (newstodate): Once thriving on ex-China cargo transferred to Russia, Estonia's Tallinn Airport has seen its cargo volumes dwindling through 2009.
In August Tallinn Airport handled a total of 1,031 tonnes of cargo, a decline by 76.3 percent, y-o-y.
During January-August the volumes were 12,025 tonnes, down 57.8 percent, y-o-y.
The August figures were even especially affected by a unique increase in cargo exports, totaling 369 tonnes, up 287 percent, y-o-y, and constituting 31 percent of the nine-month total at 934 tonnes that was still 23.7 percent down, y-o-y.
