Sep 24, 2009 (newstodate): Finnair is going up to daily flights from Helsinki to Delhi, India, from September 25, 2009.
The carrier has been operating six weekly flights through last year's winter schedules, and flew five times weekly during this summer.
Using now Airbus A330-300 aircraft on the route, Finnair provides the shortest connection between the EU and India due to the geographical localization of Helsinki on the great circle route.
Delhi will be the carrier's only Indian connection as flights to Mumbai were suspended from May, 2009, due to low demand during the slack season, and later deleted from the carrier's schedules.
