Sep 22, 2009 (newstodate): Estonia's Tallinn Airport may see a future especially in the Baltic air cargo scene.
-The airport provides four cargo terminal operators and is fully capable of handling all sizes of cargo aircraft as demonstrated in practice, says Rein Loik, Tallinn Airport general manager.
-Today our cargo volumes are mainly comprising ex-China exports to Russia transited at Tallinn Airport, but we are of course seeing a decline in these volumes as the Russian consumers are reluctant to buy in the current economic situation.
-We are already in discussions with operators in order to attract them to localize freighter traffic at Tallinn Airport, but we must undoubtedly intensify the promotion of our air cargo capabilities on a wider scale. we do have the potentials, says Mr Loik.
