Sep 02, 2009 (newstodate): The Nordic air cargo market has seen the birth of yet another air cargo GSA, Skyreps, with office in Copenhagen, Denmark.
From the start, Skyreps will provide sales and marketing of capacity in the Nordic markets on Jade Cargo International's flights from Amsterdam and Frankfurt to destinations in the Far East including China and Korea, with Dubai, Hong Kong and Shenzhen soon to be added.
Managing director for Skyreps is Axel Rasmussen, founder of WecoAir Cargo, while sales and operations in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland will be managed by Lars Olsen, formerly with WecoAir Cargo, Singapore Airlines Cargo, and North Air Logistics.
In 2006 Jade Cargo designated ProActive Airline Services as its cargo GSA in Denmark, Air Cargo Services in Norway, ATS in Sweden, and Ospentos in Finland, but in June 2007 a decision was made to transfer responsibility for Jade Cargo sales in Germany and the Nordic region to Lufthansa Cargo, entailing the abrogation of a series of cargo GSA contracts.
On February 26, 2007, Jade Cargo launched flights twice weekly on the route from Shenzhen to Amsterdam, routed back via Stockholm Arlanda, but the carrier pulled out from Stockholm again in 2008.
