Sep 15, 2009 (newstodate): Cargolux has now ceased the routing through Helsinki, Finland, of a freighter service between Hong Kong and Luxembourg.
The services was operated together with Finnair Cargo that held a blocked-space allotment of 50 percent of the capacity.
The freighter through Helsinki was launched on November 25, 2004.
-We have been very satisfied with the cooperation with Cargolux, and both parties agree that if warranted by the market, the service might be resumed in the future, says Erkka Suvikumpu, Finnair Cargo VP marketing & business development.
After Finnair Cargo's decision to pull out, Cargolux has seen no basis for continuing the weekly freighter service.
Earlier, from June 30, 2007, the two parties ceased cooperating on a joint all-cargo operation between Gothenburg and New York JFK, launched on January 6, 2007.
