Sep 14, 2009 (newstodate): Boeing may lose another significant Dreamliner customer in Eastern Europe.
The Polish carrier LOT may reportedly consider pulling out from its order for a total of 14 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, referring to the manufacturer's sustained delays and repeated postponements of delivery dates.
Under the original plans, LOT would have received its first aircraft by October 2008 already but now estimates the first delivery by late 2010.
First carrier to cancel a Dreamliner order was Azerbaijan Airlines in August 2008, in January 2009 the Russian carrier S7 airlines canceled orders for 17 Boeing 787, later in spring Dubai-based LCAL canceled its Dreamliner orders, and among others Air Berlin is now also reportedly mulling plans for canceling its order for up to 25 Dreamliners.
Boeing's order book still contains orders for 850 Dreamliners.
