Aug 19, 2009 (newstodate): Time-to-market is a crux for aircraft manufacturers. And it also seems to an increasingly difficult issue in today's competitive environment.
The problem is embedded in Boeing's schedule for its much-hyped Dreamliner, Boeing 787, as for Airbus' A380 and A350 aircraft.
It is now also again on the agenda in Russia's aircraft industry, where indications are that the first delivery of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 will be delayed.
Originally slated for delivery by the end of 2008 and later reset for delivery by autumn, 2009, when the first aircraft should have been delivered in October, 2009, and then adjusted to December 2009, the dateline has now reportedly been pushed back to early 2010 instead.
