Aug 04, 2009 (newstodate): The race for winning the contract for a 30-year concession to manage St Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport has produced a winner: The Northern Capital Gateway Consortium.
The consortium comprises Russia's VTB Bank, Fraport AG and the Greek Horizon Air Investments.
Losers were thus a consortium comprising Flughafen Wien, Lider and Gazprombank. and a consortium comprising the Russian company Basic Element and Singapore's Changi Airport International.
The final contract will be signed by the end of 2009, comprising the obligation of constructing a new passenger terminal, expanding the airport's ramp areas, and modernizing the existing airport infrastructure.
