Aug 05, 2009 (newstodate): Russia's airlines report a joint drop in volumes by 24.6 percent, y-o-y, during this year's first six months.
The Russian carriers lifted a total of 301,835 tonnes of cargo and mail during the period, including 207,322 tonnes of international cargo, down 24.7 percent, and 94,513 tonnes of domestic cargo.
The drop was, however, easing somewhat in June when total loads were 56,155 tonnes, down 17.4 percent, y-o-y.
Among the few Russian airlines to go against this trend was the Volga-Dnepr Group whose Boeing 747 operator ABC lifted 65,100 tonnes, up 4.6 percent, y-o-y.
