Aug 06, 2009 (newstodate): Taking effect from August 17, 2009, SAS Cargo has named Leif Rasmussen as its new CEO, succeeding Kenneth Marx who has held the office since May 1, 2004.
Leif Rasmussen was formerly with SAS till 2000, serving as Sales and Marketing Director and finally VP SAS Denmark, when he left for a position as COO with Copenhagen Airports.
Leif Rasmussen last held CEO positions at both Carlson Wagonlit Travel and LiverCyte Ltd.
-Kenneth Marx has been leading the SAS Cargo Group from a time when its business was much diversified. Now we are scaling back to cargo core business, and as the various non-core assets are divested, probably during the latter part of this year, the job now held by Kenneth Marx will have changed considerably, calling for a new profile to be defined, Mette Vaabengaard, SAS Cargo Head of corporate communications, told newstodate in June 2009, when the decision to change CEO was announced.
